My cousin came up to me for help last Friday. It was her first time to go clubbing and she was pretty excited about it.
I am not an expert on anything, but I’ve been to clubs and I’ve had my share of party moments. So, I agreed to dress her up. I wanted her to look good and I want her to look her age because frankly, she looks like she’s 12.
It’s really hard for me to pick what she should wear from her choices, because I didn’t want her to look like a child nor wear something inappropriate. I opted for her to wear a floral cotton mini-dress from Topshop, it’s fun, young and I love the straps behind. The mini-dress fitted her perfectly without me worrying about her making any fashion booboo and it wasn’t tight on her at all. To give the dress a shape on her, I used a light tan-colored braided belt and then paired it with peach and brown heels from Charles and Keith.
Because her dress was floral and blue, I thought it would match a bit smokey eyes with blue eye-liner—which is on trend now during the Spring/Summer Fashion week. I used a pale yellow matte eye shadow as based and used pink and purple pearly eyeshadow to create a bit of a smokey effect on the eyes. I winged the blue-eye liner to complement her really long and thick eye lashes. (The winged eyes are so in this year!) and then finished off with black mascara.
I didn’t use any foundation or base make-up for this cause I didn’t realise that she wasn’t going to re-do her make-up anymore. But it lasted til 5 in the morning, apparently. I just let her bring my MAC in Royal Azalea to touch up her lips.
